Before the pandemic, we took a trip to Mount Rushmore one year. Years later, we still talk about what a wonderful trip it was.
Here we are getting in line to drive into the park. We went during off-peak season, but it was still busy, just not as busy compared to peak season.
There's Mount Rushmore from a distance. We were still far from the monument after first entering the park, but we're excited and filled with anticipation.
This is the walk down the path with all the flags, towards the monument. At this point, we're about to burst with excitement. How soon before we actually get close to the monument.
And there it is, tada! Mt Rushmore!!! It was even more impressive in person.
We finally got close to the monument, but my photos didn't do it justice. It was indeed as magnificent as we imagined. Then to our surprise, there was a museum about Mount Rushmore that was more extensive than we had thought. This is a snapshot from the museum.
Mount Rushmore is a gem. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it. It was a long trip for us but totally worth it.
